About

This study group was initially created by Amanda Kelly. She lead and gathered us together on weekly in-person meetings at El Phoenix restaurant in Addison, TX.

After a few sessions at that location, the team decided to change place and moved weekly sessions to a study room in a campus library in Frisco.

We initially met in small study rooms with limited capacity, until we found a classroom, where we could all fit and there were plenty of seats for everyone.

Besides enough seat for all members, the classroom also had an overhead projector, audio speakers. We would be able to share a common screen with study material for all to see and hear.

The study group initially started with a good audience. There were 14 members registered. However, as has been the case with most other study groups, some team members were not able to join us on a regular basis, and some stopped attending our sessions, due to various reasons.

Some live far from our meeting location, others have moved out of town, and some have changed their study plans.

Those of us who stayed with the group, have continued reviewing study material, and preparing based upon CCIE R&S written Blueprint topics.

Once we complete our review sessions, we will make an attempt to take the written test.

There is plenty of material to review, read and practice. The Blueprint has seven distinct sections.

The latest CCIE revision 5.1 incorporates a new section called Evolving Technologies. It includes fresh main topics: Cloud, SDN, Virtualization, and IoT.

We all understand that the road to CCIE is not a straight path, it doesn't have a default gateway, you can't PING it, it does allow multiple paths, and you can use more than preparation protocol to achieve it. Thus far, we are enjoying the journey, as new information is learned, and other information is refreshed into our long term memory cells on the left side of our brains.

Happy studying !!
